Welcome to READ Mississippi, a legislative liaison for educators and parents in the state of Mississippi who are dedicated to advocating for individuals with dyslexia.

At READ Mississippi, we believe that every student deserves an education that meets their unique needs, including those with dyslexia. We work to ensure that Mississippi's education system is equipped to identify and support students with dyslexia by advocating for policy changes and providing resources and support to educators and families.

Our team of experienced advocates and educators are passionate about improving literacy outcomes for all students in Mississippi, particularly those with dyslexia. We work closely with state legislators and other policymakers to advocate for evidence-based interventions, early screening and assessment, and appropriate accommodations for students with dyslexia.

Through our advocacy efforts, we hope to raise awareness about the needs of students with dyslexia and promote policies that prioritize their success. We also provide training and resources to educators and families to help them better support students with dyslexia, including access to best practices, instructional strategies, and assistive technology.

We are committed to improving the educational experience for all students in Mississippi, and we believe that our work is critical to ensuring that students with dyslexia receive the support they need to succeed. Thank you for visiting READ Mississippi, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or would like to get involved in our advocacy efforts.

The Fact Is:

Mississippi has approximately 100,000 students with dyslexia. However, we only have roughly 150 dyslexia therapists in our public schools.

It’s time to open a
pathway for Certified Academic Language Therapists to be certified to treat and remediate our brilliant Mississippi students with DYSLEXIA.
